Buyer Beware (lessons we learned from students around the country)  
Some schools...
- Charge you for a private lesson and then only use "one" chase vehicle 
   to share among 2 to 3 separate, so called, "Private"  lessons.  
- Use "Non-Certified Instructors" 
- Use instructors who are Great riders but, not-so-great teachers.
- Use Harnesses with aluminum spreader bars not suitable (not safe) for the 
  demands of kiteboarding. (only use a kite-harness with a stainless steel spreader bar)

Clarification and Suggestions:
Get the most for your time and money and seek out the best instructors available.
Kite Instructors, like other professions have poor, average, good, and outstanding
ones.  Riding skills "Do Not"  equal teaching skills.  The world is full of great athletes 
who can't teach, and great teachers who are not top athletes. Do your homework and 
seek out the "outstanding" instructors.  A certification does not guarantee a top notch 
instructor but you at least know they've been through proper safety training and care 
enough to make the time and dollar investment in themselves. Never feel obligated to 
continue with the same instructor.  A different style or method my be just what you 
need to get to the next level. Bottom line,  Its all about You!

Kiteboarding lessons to fit everyone's needs

What location has the most consistent winds in the US?

Answer:  South Padre Island   The Laguna Madre stretching between South Padre Island and Corpus Christi 
has ideal winds for Kiteboarding.  At approximately the same latitude as Miami, the tropical climate is excellent 12 months of the year.

South Padre Island vs Corpus Christi , TX

Corpus has the city feel and good wind.  On the flip side, the water is dark murky,
and loaded with nasty jellyfish.

South Padre Island, has that wonderful  tropical resort feel and the same great wind!
The water is clear, and waist deep as far as the eye can see. 

Hotel Rates: in the Fall and Spring months (Oct, November, April, May) are dirt cheap with 
several hotel offering rooms for only $29.00 to $39.00 a night!
Peak Summer Season:  Memorial Day  thru Labor Day  $69. to $119.+  per night.

Brownsville, Harligen, McAllen

*Almost daily wind!      Translation:  More 15+ mph days than anywhere in the US!  
Approx 300 days per year of great wind.

*Miles of windy, shallow, flat water on the bay,  and miles of wide open beach on the gulf.

*Cheap flights via Southwest Airlines into Harlingen Airport.  The Brownville Airport is also nearby.

*Excellent values on Hotel and condo rentals.
